Terms of use
Last updated 13 August 2026.
Nest Chef is a recipe and meal planning service. These terms are the agreement between you and Nest Chef, and they cover the Nest Chef website and the Nest Chef Android app, which are the same service. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
Who can use Nest Chef
Nest Chef is not for children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Give accurate details when you sign up, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think somebody else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
The content you create
Your recipes, meal plans, suggestions, and photos are yours. You keep ownership of everything you post, and only post content you have the right to post.
By posting content you give Nest Chef a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, adapt, publish, and display it, and to let other people view it, for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting Nest Chef — including any paid version of the service and any material advertising it. Adapting means practical changes such as resizing a photo or reformatting instructions, not rewriting your recipe. This licence lets us run and promote the service; it does not let us sell your content on its own to somebody else.
The licence lasts as long as your content is on Nest Chef, and ends when you delete the content or your account — except that a recipe you made public stays in the shared library so that other members can still use it. It stays attached to your anonymized account and is no longer identifiable as yours.
A recipe you mark as public is visible to anyone, including visitors who are not signed in, and your display name is shown alongside it. A recipe you keep private is visible only to you and the members of your household.
Content that is not allowed
Do not create, upload, or share content that:
- Is sexually explicit, or that sexualizes a child in any way.
- Attacks or degrades people, or promotes hatred against them, because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- Threatens, bullies, or harasses another person, or reveals their private information.
- Depicts or glorifies violence or cruelty, or that encourages self-harm or disordered eating.
- Promotes illegal activity, including instructions for producing illegal drugs or weapons.
- Describes food preparation that is deliberately unsafe, or that presents a dangerous or inedible substance as food.
- Impersonates another person, including misrepresenting who wrote a recipe.
- Is spam, advertising, or a scam.
- Infringes somebody else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.
How to use the service
- Do not probe, overload, or interfere with the service, or try to break the way it works.
- Do not collect recipes or member details automatically, by scraping or any similar means.
- Do not use somebody else's account, or work around the rules that keep private recipes and household plans private.
Paid features
Nest Chef is free to use today. We may introduce paid features or a paid membership in the future. If we do, we will make clear what costs money before you are charged, and the licence described above applies whether the service is free or paid.
Removing content and ending accounts
We may remove content that breaks these terms, and we may suspend or end an account that breaks them — immediately, and without notice, where the breach is serious. We do not review everything that is posted, but we act on what is brought to our attention. You can stop using the service at any time.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself at any time, from my settings in the app. Deleting your account erases your personal details and your private content and cannot be undone. The page below sets out the steps and exactly what is removed and what is kept.
Delete accountThe service is provided as is
Nest Chef is provided as is, without any warranty, and we do not guarantee that it will always be available or free of faults. Recipes are written by members rather than by us: we do not check them for accuracy, for food safety, or for allergens. Read the ingredients yourself, and use your own judgement when you cook.
Your privacy
The privacy policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who it is shared with, and how to remove it. It forms part of your agreement with us.
Privacy policyChanges to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
